Until now, the state had separate selection boards and commissions for teacher recruitments, but with the establishment of the Uttar Pradesh Education Services Selection Commission, the Uttar Pradesh Higher Education Service Commission and the Uttar Pradesh Madhyamik Shiksha Service Selection Board will be dissolved. This new body will operate as a corporate entity with its headquarters in Prayagraj. It will consist of 12 members and one chairman, all appointed by the state government. The selected candidates for these positions will hold office for a tenure of either three years or until they reach the age of 65, whichever comes first.

Water Tourism:

The cabinet also approved the Water Tourism and Adventure Sports Policy 2023, which will remain valid for ten years from the date of announcement. The policy will be applicable to all intra-state waterways, air-based activities, and various water bodies, including dams, reservoirs, lakes, rivers, and state-owned territories, where different water-based adventurous activities take place. The Bundelkhand region, spread over approximately 16,620 square kilometers in the foothills of the Himalayas, offers numerous scenic spots, forest areas, flowing rivers, and captivating waterfalls, dams, reservoirs, and lakes, making it ideal for water-based tourism, adventure sports, and water-related recreational activities. Keeping this in mind, we have introduced this policy in the state, which has received approval from the Cabinet.

Uttar Pradesh’s Tourism Minister, Jayveer Singh, stated, “This policy will be valid for ten years from the officially declared date.”

Under this policy, Uttar Pradesh will establish a nodal agency for adventure sports at the Mandal level. This nodal agency will conduct feasibility studies for water-based tourism and adventure sports in designated territories and water sources. Moreover, it will issue licenses for water-based tourism and adventure sports activities in each designated area and water source.”
